The Texas Rangers have signed Conor Jackson and Joe Beimel to minor league deals, according to Richard Durrett of ESPN. Both come with invitations to Spring Training.
Jackson, 29, enters his 8th season and carries a career .271 / .351 / .407, mostly playing the corners. He played with the Arizona Diamondbacks for six seasons (2005 - 2010) and had stints in both Boston and Oakland. Jackson has struggled over the past few seasons, hitting .182 in just 30 games in 2009, .236 in 60 games in 2010, and .244 in 114 games last season.
Left-handed pitcher Joe Beimel, 34, has a career 4.21 ERA in 11 seasons, spending time with six different clubs. He was with the Pittsburgh Pirates last season and pitched at a 5.33 ERA clip in 25 innings.
