Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that the San Francisco Giants and catcher Buster Posey have not had any extension talks as of now. Both sides are also not expecting to talk about it for now, and just go with one year deals through arbitration.
Posey is a Super Two player, so he will be eligible for arbitration for the first time after this season. He will have four years of eligibility, and will likely be looking to sign a one year deal to avoid arbitration this off season, seeing that an extension now seems unlikely.
Posey tells Schulman that he has no idea of there are negotiations ongoing, and if there are, he doesn't care to know where they are or what direction they are heading in. He just wants to play and his agent will tell him if there is anything worth knowing about or worth chatting about.
