According to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports, Toronto Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos scouted the Phillies' Spring Training game today, but left after Joe Blanton was done -- indicating some possible interest. Morosi tweets that the Blue Jays are interested in pitching, and given the Phillies' starting pitching depth (Kyle Kendrick is currently rotation insurance), Blanton is "available in the right deal."
Blanton, 31, is entering the final year of a three-year contract, and will earn $8.5M in 2012. The right-hander only made eight starts last season, but for his career, he has a 99 ERA+ in 1200+ innings (nearly 200 starts).
