The San Diego Padres have locked up catcher Nick Hundley to a three-year deal that will keep him under contract through 2014, with a club option (no buyout) for 2015. Hundley will make a guaranteed $9M, though he can earn up to $14M in total.
According to Dan Hayes of the North County Times, the "injury factor" allowed the Padres to lock Hundley up at a relatively cheap price.
