Dave Cameron from FanGraphs is reporting via twitter that the Seattle Mariners have placed left handed pitcher Cesar Jimenez on waivers. He was out of options.

Jimenez missed 2009 and 2010 after a shoulder injury and surgery, and he missed a lot of 2007 with a stress fracture in his elbow. He is currently 27 years old. In his MLB career, he has made 43 appearances with the Seattle Mariners.

In his career, Jimenez had an earned run average of 5.40 in the 48 innings over those 43 games. He is one of four Mariners players who were out of options, thus he was waived. If he is not claimed, he can be sent to the Triple A Tacoma Rainers or be released or traded.

A team looking for minor league pitching depth could take a look at Jimenez. My guesses would be Boston, Baltimore, and maybe Cleveland. But I doubt he is actually claimed.
