• The Kansas City Royals sent Johnny Giavotella to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday, apparently to see if he can improve over a mind-bending platoon of Chris Getz and Yuniesky Betancourt.
• The New York Mets released Tobi Stoner, according to @MetsFarmReport. The Mets also released Eric Niesen, Nick Carr, Roy Merritt, Chris Hilliard, Ronny Morla, Steve Winnick, Lucas Stewart, and Chase Greene.
