The San Francisco Giants designated outfielder Tyler Graham for assignment earlier today, in order to make room on the 40-man roster. The transaction was among a few roster moves the Giants made today: left-hander Jeremy Affeldt was placed on the 15-day DL with a right knee sprain, and the Giants called up Travis Blackley to fill the bullpen void. Blackley was not on the team's 40-man roster, however, so San Francisco designated Graham for assignment in order to clear a spot.
Graham, 28, has spent his entire career in the Giants organization. Last season, he appeared in 127 games with Triple-A Fresno, hitting .273/.337/.338 with 60 stolen bags, and only 12 CS.
