The Los Angeles Dodgers have called up second baseman Alex Castellanos, Kevin Goldstein of ESPN is reporting via twitter:
Sources have confirmed: The #Dodgers have called up 2B Alex Castellanos. I'm a believer in his bat.

Castellanos, 25, comes to the Dodgers hitting .379/.476/.759 for Triple-A Albuquerque on the season. Drafted in 2008 by St. Louis, he now has five seasons of Minor League experience between the Cardinals and Dodgers and holds a career minor league line of .291/.359/.505.
He was traded to the Dodgers for Rafael Furcal last July, and hit .322 for AA Chattanooga over 32 games. The Dodgers moved him to the 40-man roster following the 2011 season to protect him from the Rule-V draft, and he was promoted to AAA Albuquerque to begin the 2012 season.
Goldstein adds that he likes Castellanos' bat and believes the Dodgers will play him at second.
