Mariano Rivera tore his ACL earlier today shagging flyballs in batting practice, and he will likely miss the rest of the 2012 season. Rivera, 42, has hinted at retiring after this season, meaning his Hall of Fame career might be over.
In any event, for the 2012 season, it appears that David Robertson will likely take over in the closer role.
