Detroit Tigers right-hander Doug Fister will not come off the disabled list Wednesday, the day he is eligible to, reports Chris Iott of Mlive.com. According to Iott, the Tigers will start Rick Porcello Wednesday, Justin Verlander on Thursday and Casey Crosby on Friday.

Fister hit the Tigers disabled list for the second time this season back in late May. A side strain forced Fister to the DLafter his first start of the 2012 season and back again a week-and-a-half ago.

The Tigers were initially expecting Fister to return to the hill this Wednesday when he’s eligible to be activated from the DL. However, Detroit’s manager, Jim Leyland, told reporters yesterday that Fister felt sore following Saturday’s bullpen session. Leyland had nothing more to offer than the fact that Fister is "definitely not going to pitch Wednesday."

Over his first six starts of the season, Fister has maintained an ERA and WHIP of 3.15 and 1.31.
