Twins Agree to Terms with Byron Buxton, Jose Berrios

The Minnesota Twins have reached deals with first round draft picks Byron Buxton and Jose Berrios, reports La Velle E. Neal of the Star Tribune.

The 18-year-old Buxton, the second overall pick in last week's amateur draft, came to an agreement with the Twins while meeting the club at Target Field on Monday.

The details of Buxton's deal have yet to be disclosed, and the agreement is still pending a physical, but may very well end up being more than top pick Carlos Correa's $4.8 million bonus. The recommended bonus slot for the second overall pick is $6.2 million.

An outfielder out of Appling County High School in Georgia, Buxton will begin his professional career with the Twins' rookie league team in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Twins also came to terms with supplemental pick, 32nd overall, Jose Berrios for an estimated $1.55 million. A right-handed pitcher out of Puerto Rico, Berrios frequently sits between 93-96mph on the radar gun and also packs a biting curveball.
