Texas Rangers Sign Lewis Brinson, Joey Gallo, Collin Wiles

The Texas Rangers have signed their top five selections in this year's MLB draft, including first-round draft picks Lewis Brinson, Joey Gallo and Collin Wiles, Executive Vice President of Communications John Blake announced.

Brinson, the 29th overall draft pick, signed for $1.625 million according to Richard Durrett of ESPN Dallas. The High School prospect "was one of the most tooled-up athletes in the draft" writes Keith Law of ESPN.

Gallo, the 39th pick in the supplemental first-round signed for $2.25 million, according to Jim Callis of Baseball America, which is $900K over MLB's recommended slot signing bonus. Another High School player, Gallo possess "80 raw power and an 80 arm off the mound and at third base." writes Keith Law of ESPN.

The third and final first-round pick, Colin Wiles, signed for $975K reports Jim Callis of Baseball America. That bonus is over MLB's recommended slot signing bonus as well, by roughly $20K.
