The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right-hander Shaun Marcum on the 15-day disabled list with a "tight right elbow", reports Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.

No specific details have been given about the 30-year-old Marcum’s elbow, but he has said the injury is unrelated to the one that led to his 2008 Tommy John surgery. The move to the DL is retroactive to June 15, the date following Marcum’s last start, which means the right-hander only has to miss one start if he is healthy enough to return at the 15-day mark.

Marcum owns a 5-3 record and 3.39 ERA in 13 starts this season, striking out 77 batters in 82 1/3 innings.

Back-up first baseman Travis Ishikawa has been activated from the 15-day DL to fill Marcum’s place on the roster. Ishikawa, who was battling a strained left oblique, returns to the team having hit .250/.319/.516 with four home runs in 32 games this season.
