The St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to terms with first round draft pick James Ramsey and could finalize the deal by Friday, reports Derrick Goold of STL Today.

The 23rd overall pick in the draft is expected to sign for $1.6 million, slightly under the allotted slot value of $1.775 million. Despite being under the slot value, Ramsey's bonus is the third-highest ever for a college senior, according to Jim Callis of Baseball America.

An outfielder at Florida State, the 6' 0" Ramsey became eligible to sign with St. Louis when the Seminoles were eliminated from the College World Series earlier this week. The All-American outfielder hit an astounding .378/.513/.652 for the Seminoles this season with 13 home runs in 67 games.

Goold also reports that Ramsey will likely jump right in and begin his professional career with a full-season club. The finalization of Ramsey's agreement with the Cardinals is pending a physical.
