The Kansas City Royals have recalled outfielder Jason Bourgeois and left-hander Everett Teaford from Triple-A, designating catcher Humberto Quintero for assignment and optioning left-hander Francisley Bueno.

Bourgeois and Quintero were acquired from the Houston Astros in the same trade this March. Quintero maintained a line of .232/.257/.342 over his 138 at-bats with one home run, 12 doubles and 19 RBIs.

Bourgeois is 3-14 with the Royals this season, as he’s spent a majority of the year with the team’s Triple-A affiliate. Over his 156 at-bats with Omaha, the 30-year-old has hit at a clip of .205/.262/.269 with two home runs, four doubles, 22 runs scored and five stolen bases.

Teaford is set to start tonight’s series finale for the Royals. It will be the 28-year-old’s fourth appearance of the season for Kansas City. Over his seven appearances, including six starts, with Omaha, Teaford has posted an ERA and WHIP of 1.09 and 0.970.

Bueno appeared in two games for the Royals this season, surrendering one earned run on three hits over his two innings of work.
