Jennings has been out since May 11 while dealing with a sprained left knee. After being shut down for much of May due to the knee injury, Jennings began a minor league rehab stint which lasted four games. Over those four games Jennings went 3-15 with a double and two runs scored while playing for the Rays High- and Triple-A affiliates.
Prior to his injury, Jennings had hit at a clip of .265/.333/.398 with seven extra-base hits, 20 runs scored, 11 RBIs and eight stolen bases over his first 113 at-bats of the season.
Thompson had appeared in eight games for the Rays this season, only collecting one hit over his 16 at-bats.
