The New York Mets have designated Josh Satin for assignment, activated Jason Bay and Pedro Beato, and placed Chris Young on the Paternity Leave List, according to the team:

Satin, 27, only appeared in one game on the season (striking out in his only plate appearance) and has spent the rest in AAA Buffalo. In 206 plate appearances for Buffalo, Satin is hitting .274/.359/.380, slightly down from his minor league career line of .304/.393/.458.

Outfielder Jason Bay returns after fracturing a rib at the end of April and then seeing his return delayed by illness. Beato began the season on the disabled list with shoulder discomfort and returns to the team after nine rehab appearances with Buffalo.
