The Detroit Tigers have expressed interest in Houston Astros left-hander Wandy Rodriguez, but the club is "wary" of the veteran’s contract, reports Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports:
#Tigers would like to add a LH starter but wary of paying full freight on Wandy Rodriguez’s contract: two years, $26MM after this season.

Morosi adds that the Astros could be willing to eat a portion of Rodriguez’s contract. If that happens, he believes the Tigers could be in play.
But as @Ken_Rosenthal and I wrote today, #Astros may be willing to eat money to move Wandy. If that happens, #Tigers could be in play.

Rodriguez, 33, has maintained and ERA and WHIP of 3.51 and 1.243 this season and his career marks are 4.02 and 1.337. Rodriguez, who’s making $10 million this season, is set to make $13 million in 2013 and his contract includes a $13 million team option, which becomes a player option if he’s traded, for the 2014 season.
