The New York Yankees have activated left-hander C.C. Sabathia from the 15-day disabled list, reports Brian Hoch of MLB.com:

In a corresponding roster move, the Yankees have designated outfielder Darnell McDonald for assignment.
Sabathia hit the Yankees’ DL at the end of June with a strained groin. The veteran southpaw expected to return after the minimum required two weeks.
Over his 15 starts for the Yankees this season, Sabathia has maintained an ERA and WHIP of 3.45 and 1.271 with 8.8 SO/9 and 2.4 BB/9.
The Yankees claimed McDonald off waivers from the Boston Red Sox earlier this month after the outfielder was designated for assignment. The 33-year-old appeared in only four games for New York, collecting no hits over his four at-bats.
On the season, McDonald has hit at a clip of .205/.297/.352 over his 88 at-bats with the Yankees and Red Sox.

With a healthy C.C., do the Yankees need to add a starter this summer?
