The Colorado Rockies have placed infielders Chris Nelson and Jonathan Herrera on the 15-day disabled list, reports Tracy Ringolsby of FOX Sports:

To replace Nelson and Herrera on their roster, the Rockies added infielder D.J. LeMahieu and utilityman Andrew Brown.

Nelson has been suffering from irregular heartbeat. The 26-year-old had his heart "shocked back into rhythm Tuesday afternoon" and is recovering in a local hospital, according to Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post. Before hitting the DL, Nelson had posted an OPS of .735 for the Rockies this season.

Herrera sustained a wrist injury recently, an infection caused by a wristwatch, which landed him on the 15-day DL. On the season, the 27-year-old maintained an OPS of .678.

LeMahieu has played in 19 games for the Rockies this season, collecting eight hits over his 39 at-bats. He owns a career major league OPS of .525 over his 99 at-bats.
