The Detroit Tigers are expected to be among the most active teams in pursuit of starting pitching this summer, reports Buster Olney of ESPN:
DET said by execs to be among most active teams in pursuit of a starting P--and their search presumably intensified after Tuesday's game.

Olney notes that the Tigers’ pursuit of pitching likely "intensified" after last night’s contest against the Los Angeles Angels. Top pitching prospect Jacob Turner lasted only two innings, surrendering seven runs on six hits and two walks.
Detroit has been tied to pitching for most of the summer, but they’ve also reportedly been looking into upgrades at second base and the outfield.
The two available starters that have been tied to the Tigers the most this summer seem to be Chicago Cubs right-handers Matt Garza and Ryan Dempster. We found out yesterday that the Tigers do not appear willing to trade top third base prospect Nick Castellanos, at least at this time, but Turner seems available.
