The Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles are showing interest in San Diego Padres' left-hander Clayton Richard, reports Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports.

Rumored to be on the trading block since the beginning of the month, Richard is 2-2 with a 4.14 ERA in four July starts. Morosi hints that the Tigers may be furthest along in their dealing with San Diego, as the Padres have taken several recent looks at Detroit's minor league system.

Richard, 28, owns a 3.86 ERA in 20 starts on the season, amassing a 4.8 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9 rate in an NL-high 135 1/3 innings of work. Currently on a one-year, $2.705 million contract, the 6' 5" left-hander is under team control through 2014.

Who would be a better fit for the Tigers: Richard or Greinke?
