The Pittsburgh Pirates are continuing to pursue Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton, who’s "at or near the top of their wish list for hitters," reports Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports:

Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported earlier this week that the Diamondbacks will trade Upton this summer or in the off-season. The outfielder does carry some concerns of a possible lingering shoulder injury that could impact his future production, but he’s 24 years old and was a National League MVP candidate last season.

In exchange for Upton, the Diamondbacks have said that they would be looking for major league-ready talent in return.

Beyond the Pirates, Upton has been tied to the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays this summer. Earlier in the week, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reported the New York Yankees had checked in on Upton, but said the right fielder would be a "major long shot for them."
