Monday Night Off-Topic: Movies, Penn-State, Hurdlers, Ichiro Reactions

Good evening, all! We're edging closer and closer to the trade deadline and as such, endless trade rumors and speculation can sometimes muddle the brain. Let's take a moment to unwind tonight and go completely off-topic.

Here's what's on my mind:

• I did end up seeing The Dark Knight Rises over the weekend, and can happily report that while I don't think it will be the classic that TDK was, it is a perfectly fine superhero flick and stands above most trilogy conclusions. Since TDKR just came out and we're still in that 4-6 month spoiler moratorium, I'll avoid addressing the film directly and instead ask -- what's the best trilogy conclusion ever? It's gotta be Return of the King, right?
• Speaking of movies, it's rare that I'll see a set of previews without at least one dud, if not several. But this weekend let me tell you -- every single preview in front of TDKR looked fantastic: Taken 2 (title police, hello?!), Man of Steel (please be good, please be good), Oz (I'll take a flyer on this just because it's Franco), Total Recall and The Bourne Legacy (skeptical but excited for both). Since TDKR is out now, what's the next movie you're most looking forward to? Put me down for The Great Gatsby with DiCaprio. Hell yes.
• So, Penn State took the Joe Pa statue down and looks like their football program was destroyed for the next decade. I'm totally fine with this. What do you guys think?
• Olympics: other than that eye-popping hurdler Michelle Jenneke (gooby plz, search when you're not at work), what is everyone looking forward to the most?
• UPDATE: Ichiro in a Yankees uniform. Anyone else think it's weird?
