The Toronto Blue Jays are interested in Miami Marlins right-hander Josh Johnson, reports Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports:

Morosi notes that the Blue Jays also expressed interest in Marlins third baseman Hanley Ramirez before he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but says Toronto had a "stronger desire" to land Johnson because of the club’s pitching need.

According to Peter Gammons of MLB.com, the Marlins initially told teams they would trade either Anibal Sanchez or Johnson. Now that Sanchez has been traded to the Detroit Tigers, Gammons says only a "blowaway offer" will get Johnson, "for now, anyway."

There were several teams at Johnson’s last start, which he made an early exit from. Jayson Stark of ESPN has been told by the Marlins that a minor blister issue was what caused Johnson to leave the game, and the right-hander is expected to make his next start.

Should the Marlins keep cleaning house and trade Josh Johnson?
