- After clearing waivers, the New York Yankees have outrighted outfielder Dewayne Wise to Class Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News. However, Wise hasn't accepted the assignment and could opt for free agency instead. The 34-year-old was designated for assignment after the Yankees acquired Ichiro Suzuki.
- The Chicago Cubs have outrighted right-handed reliever Jairo Asencio to Class Triple-A Iowa, reports Carrie Muskat of MLB.com. The team acquired Asencio off waivers from the Indians in June. The 28-year-old Asencio posted a 3.07 ERA across 14 2/3 innings of work with the Cubs.
