UPDATE 12:23 - Crasnick has heard from a source that the Marlins are asking for team's "top 2 or 3 prospects" in every trade scenario involving Johnson:

11:30 AM EDT - There is a lot of debate in front offices over the availability of Miami Marlins right-hander Josh Johnson, reports Jerry Crasnick of ESPN. Crasnick believes the Marlins are open to trading Johnson, but the asking price is "extremely high."

One general manager told Crasnick the Marlins "want a ton," of value in return for Johnson. This lines up with Jon Heyman’s report from yesterday that Miami is seeking a "Teixeira-like" package for Johnson, referring to the trade that sent current New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira to the Atlanta Braves for Elvis Andrus, Neftali Feliz, Matt Harrison, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Beau Jones.

So far this summer, Johnson has drawn interest from the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals.
