The Houston Astros have claimed right-handed pitcher Chuckie Fick off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals, according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com. Fick was designated two days ago by the Cards to create room for Brian Fuentes:

Fick, 26, pitched just one and two-thirds innings over two games for the Cardinals this season, earning a 5.40 ERA while allowing three hits, one walk, and one run while striking out none.
He has six seasons of Minor League experience in the Cardinals' system and has a career Minor League ERA of 3.35. Spending the last several seasons with AAA Memphis, Fick has averaged 6.2 strike outs and 2.6 walks per game throughout his tenure in the Minors.
Fick has ties with General Manager Jeff Luhnow. He was selected in the 15th round of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft -- when Luhnow was still with the Cardinals as VP of Scouting and Player Development.
The latest out of Houston follows a report that the club is willing to part with just about anybody but Alutve.
