The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have expressed interest in Seattle Mariners closer Brandon League, according to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports.

League would both teams' search for a back end bullpen arm. League is owed the remainder of his $5 million this season before becoming a free-agent at season's end.
After playing in the All-Star game last year, the 29-year-old League isn't the same reliever he once was despite posting a 2.98 ERA across 42 1/3 innings of work this season. League has more than doubled his walk rate (3.83 BB/9) from last season and is missing less bats (5.3 K/9) than he usually does (6.5 K/9). His 2.7% HR/FB rate is unsustainable for any pitcher, and it could get ugly when it does if he can't improve his K/BB rates.
