— Todd Zolecki (@ToddZolecki) July 31, 2012@jaysonst report Phillies and Dodgers have deal in works for Victorino, which would include Josh Lindblom and another player.
Reported to be in "serious talks" this morning by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, it appears the Dodgers are close to acquiring the outfield help they have been in search of for some time. The Cincinnati Reds were also in talks to acquire the Flyin' Hawaiian, but talks stalled this morning, putting the Dodgers in the driver's seat.
Originally reported by Jayson Stark of ESPN, a deal for Victorino will likely put the Dodgers out of contention for Cubs starter Ryan Dempster because Alfonso Soriano, who has been a critical player in discussions between the two teams, would become unnecessary.
