Angels to Send Scott Downs to DL, Recall Hisanori Takahashi

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have sent left-handed reliever Scott Downs to the disabled list and recalled Hisanori Takahashi, another left-handed reliver, from Triple-A.

The Downs injury is a bit mysterious, but Mike DiGiovanna believes it is not a major leg injury, as the 36-year-old was seen running sprints earlier today.

Regardless of what the injury is, Takahashi will replace Downs on the roster. Flamethrower Kevin Jepsen will presumably fill in for Downs in the late innings, but Takahashi will be available as a left-hander out of the bullpen.
