The Miami Marlins are expected to axe president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest and general manager Michael Hill as early as next week, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today:

The Marlins are planning to fire president and team architect Larry Beinfest, perhaps as soon as next week, according to two high-ranking executives with knowledge of the move but not permitted to speak publicly because the final decision will be made by owner Jeffrey Loria.

Current vice president and assistant GM Dan Jennings is in line to take over for both Beinfest and Hill, taking on a dual role a la Dan Duquette in Baltimore. While the article does not explicitly mention the firing of the general manager, a subsequent tweet from Nightengale confirms that Jennings will be the GM, leaving the seldom publicly-mentioned Hill without a job.

The Marlins have had a disappointing season all around, from their 66-84 record to their mid-season pseudo-fire sale to their reality show getting cancelled. Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports that the fallout from the nightmare season may not stop at the front office, and that the club is discussing the "pros and cons" of keeping manager Ozzie Guillen with the team as well.

Guillen is signed through 2015, but guaranteed contracts have never stopped Loria from moving pieces in the past. The Marlins have discussed the prospect of bringing former third baseman Mike Lowell in to manage the club, even though Lowell has no previous managing experience.
