Who Will Win the American League Central?

Entering play today, the Chicago White Sox hold a two-game lead over the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central. While Chicago’s on top of the division, Detroit has the easier remaining schedule.

The White Sox took on the Kansas City Royals this week while the Tigers battled the Oakland Athletics. Though the A’s are the team in the playoff hunt, it was the Royals that came away with a series win, taking two of three from the White Sox.

Unable to take advantage of their series with KC, Chicago now has the prospects of facing a pair of clubs trying to scratch and claw their way back into the postseason picture, the Los Angeles Angels and the Tampa Bay Rays, along with six games against the Cleveland Indians.

Coming off their series victory over Oakland, the Tigers have six remaining against the Royals and another six against the Minnesota Twins.
