Contrary to several earlier reports, the Miami Marlins will not fire baseball operations president Larry Beinfest or make any other personnel changes to the front office, reports Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald:
So much for all of the rumors and speculation involving Larry Beinfest and the rest of the front office.
According to two sources, owner Jeffrey Loria does not plan to make any changes to his front office staff and Beinfest's job would appear safe for at least another year.
The original report, made by Bob Nightengale of USA Today, stated that the Marlins planned on firing Beinfest and GM Michael Hall and that current assist GM Dan Jennings would take on both of their positions for next season.
While all front offices positions appear to be safe, manager Ozzie Guillen's future with the Marlins still remains up in the air. According to Spencer's sources, Loria is still "mulling a decision" on whether to retain the fiery manager into 2013. Guillen is signed with the club through the 2015 season, but has had a very rough first season in Miami.
