The New York Mets have signed outfielder Andrew Brown to a minor league contract, the team has announced:

Browns new deal with the Mets includes an invitation to major league spring training.

Brown spent the 2012 season with the Colorado Rockies. After being selected waivers by the Rockies from the St. Louis Cardinals in October of 2011, Brown went on to hit .232/.302/.429 with seven doubles and five home runs over 112 at-bats for Colorado.

Brown also appeared in 100 games with the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate last season, hitting .308/.364/.597 with 33 doubles, four triples and 24 home runs over 390 at-bats.

The 28-year-old owns a career line of .282/.365/.512 over parts of six seasons in the minors, while he’s hit .224/.284/.396 over 134 at-bats at the major league level.
