The Marlins have signed right-handed pitchers Kevin Slowey and Mitch Talbot to minor league deals, reports Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.

Slowey, 28, last pitched in 2011 for the Minnesota Twins. He threw 59.1 innings, but posted an ERA of 6.67. His career ERA is currently sitting at 4.66.

Talbot, 29, was once a highly-touted prospect. He last pitched in the MLB for the Cleveland Indians in 2011. He pitched 63.2 inning and had an ERA of 6.64. The year before however, he posted an ERA of 4.41 over 159.1 innings for Cleveland.

Both pitchers received invites to Spring Training.

Slowey is recovering from a stress fracture in his rib cage which he sustained last season, but he probably will not be anything more than Triple-A depth.

Talbot could play a bullpen role, but he was good enough a few years ago as a starter to at least warrant a look there in Triple-A.
