MLB Daily Dish Week in review: ALL THE IMPORTANT STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW

It's late January, the fourth slowest month for baseball news (besides October, March, and February), which makes it surprisingly not that slow at all. The point is that more is happening around the seams than one might see at first glance.

Here I've collected our original editorials, opinions, biggest breaking news, and the dumbest things I could find for our Peanuts and Crackerjacks section. I hope you are both informed, amused, and horrified:

The Big News:

  Here's a great example of the atrocities a quality team like the late 70s Kansas City Royals were forced to endure because 1) they were so awesome and popular and 2) somebody stole their uniforms.

• Stan Musial video: The Man plays 'Take me out to the ballgame' on harmonica, world weeps - MLB Daily Dish
  What a better tribute to Stan Musial than seeing The Man himself playing "Take me out to the ballgame" on harmonica. What a treasure. (ok, this isn't dumb or worthless, but it's in our #crackerjacks section. don't sue me.)

  The Pittsburgh Pirates' Public Relations department did a masterful job getting the word out for their man, Andrew McCutchen, and now he's made the cover of MLB 13 The Show. Here's the result.
