Adam Kennedy rumors: Several teams interested

The veteran infielder is drawing interest as a left-handed bench bat.

Free-agent infielder Adam Kennedy is drawing interest from three or four clubs, agent Tim Trafficanda of TWC Sports Management has told MLB Trade Rumors.

The nearly 37-year-old Kennedy -- who appeared in 86 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season -- is primarily garnering interest as a lefty-hitting bench option and a super utility player. Primarily a second baseman for the first eight years of his career, Kennedy has expanded his defensive repertoire the last six seasons to include stints at the corner infield and outfield positions.

Kennedy has been on a steady diet of one-year deals since leaving the St. Louis Cardinals in 2008, playing for the Athletics, Nationals, Mariners, and Dodgers the last four years. Following two abysmal seasons with the bat, Kennedy picked things up some last season in Los Angeles, hitting .262/.345/.357 with two home runs in 201 plate appearances.

A .272/.327/.384 hitter in his 14 big-league seasons, Kennedy has never been one to excel at the plate but he does have stellar defensive numbers at second base for his career.
