Free agent second baseman Omar Infante seems to be moving closer to a decision that could come within the next couple of days, according to an industry source. The source notes that the Kansas City Royals are optimistic about their chances to land Infante, and that they are a serious possibility to land him.

According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, the Royals are one of three teams talking with Infante at the Winter Meetings. It is widely known that the Yankees are interested in him, but there also seems to be a mystery team involved in the discussions.

People within the industry speculate that Infante will receive a three- or four-year deal, and that it will get done within the next few days. Infante has been in Orlando meeting with teams along with his agent, Gene Mato.
