Robinson Cano isn't the only one leaving the Bronx this morning. The New York Mets have reached an agreement on a four-year, $60 million contract with outfielder Curtis Granderson, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. The deal, which was rumored as close for the last few days, is pending a physical.

Granderson, who turns 33 in March, will provide an immediate upgrade in the Mets' outfield, joining Chris Young as the team's offseason additions. Along with Young and Eric Young Jr., the Mets will have a revamped group that should show consistent improvement over the unit that roamed the outfield at Citi Field last season.

Granderson has also been linked to the Red Sox, Astros, White Sox and Diamondbacks this winter, but the Mets have long-been considered the favorite. The Yankees expressed interest in bringing him back to the Bronx, but his desire for a four-year contract likely pushed them to consider other options like Shin-Soo Choo and Jacoby Ellsbury. The team signed Ellsbury for seven years and $153 million earlier in the week, making a reunion with Granderson unlikely.

A move across town should be beneficial for Granderson, who has shown that he can shine under the bright lights of New York City. In four seasons with the Yankees, the outfielder hit .245 with 115 HR and 307 RBI in 513 games, capped off with a career year in 2011 when he hit .262 with 41 HR and 119 RBI, followed up by a 43 HR and 106 RBI season.

In their search for outfield help, the Mets also considered options like Norichika Aoki, who was traded to the Royals on Thursday. Instead, they will move forward with the trio of Young, Young Jr., and Granderson.
