The Baltimore Orioles have acquired right-handed reliever Scott Proctor from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for cash considerations, according to Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area.
McCovey Chronicles: Buster Posey, Giants agree to nine-year deal
Baggarly notes that Proctor will join the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate.
Proctor hasn't appeared in the majors since the 2011 season when he was with the Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees. Over a combined 39 appearances, the right-hander maintained an ERA of 7.14. He spent the 2012 season pitching in Korea.
Proctor was a decent reliever for the Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers from 2006-07, posting an ERA of 3.58 over 166 appearances. However, he's struggled mightily since then, as the 36-year-old maintained an ERA of 6.59 from 2008-11 with the Dodgers, Braves and Yankees.
The Orioles acquired another veteran arm to stash in Triple-A yesterday, signing right-hander Freddy Garcia to a minor league contract.
