AL West notes: Aaron Harang, Scott Sizemore, Nolan Ryan

Today's news from the American League West.

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

M's acquire Harang

Right-hander Aaron Harang was traded for the second time in less than two weeks, as the Seattle Marinersacquired the veteran from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for minor league reliever Steven Hensley. To make room on their roster for Harang, the Mariners designated Kameron Loe for assignment.

Aybar could require DL

X-rays on the injured heel of Los Angeles Angels shortstop Erick Aybar came back negative, but he could still require a stint on the disabled list. Manager Mike Scioscia told reporters that if Aybar doesn't make significant progress in the next few days he'll likely hit the DL.

Sizemore re-tears ACL

It will be another lost season for Oakland Athletics infielder Scott Sizemore, as an MRI revealed he once again tore the ACL in his left knee. Eric Sogard is expected to fill in at second base for the time being, but prospect Jemile Weeks could eventually get the call.

Ryan remaining with Texas

Not too long ago it appeared that Nolan Ryan's tenure with the Texas Rangers was coming to an end, but the CEO has decided to remain with the team.
