The Mariners have moved Michael Saunder to the 15-day DL after he injured his shoulder last night, and as corresponding moves they have added Endy Chavez to the roster and DFA'd D.J. Mitchell, the team announced.

The team also acquired Aaron Harang today, which is why they cleared an extra roster spot in the flurry of moves.
Mitchell was acquired from the Yankees as part of the move for Ichiro, which goes as another example of the dwindling value of veteran rentals on the trade market.
Harang should provide the Mariners with innings-eating capabilities, but in their park you have to wonder if it is worth investing in a pitcher like Aaron Harang.
Endy Chavez should provide good outfield depth, as he has for most of his career. The 35-year old has bounced around throughout his career, and should provide good veteran leadership.
The Mariners, of course, would be better-suited to handle this situation had they not DFA'd Casper Wells earlier this Spring.
