The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Darin Mastroianni on the 15-day disabled list with a stress reaction in his left ankle after last night's game, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

To replace Mastroianni on the roster, the Twins have recalled top prospect Oswaldo Arcia.

Mastroianni was a late scratch from last night's 8-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. He initially suffered an ankle injury during spring training, but he aggravated the ailment earlier this season when he fouled a pitch off his ankle. He once again aggravated the injury on Monday, when he tried to plant his foot while coming to a stop in the outfield.

Manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters that the Twins' training staff will put Mastroianni in a walking shoe to keep him off the injury for a while.

It was a quick turnaround for Arcia, who made his major league debut on Monday, only to be optioned back to the minors after the game. He was initially with the team to replace Wilkin Ramirez, who was placed on the paternity list. Arcia entered the season considered one of the Twins' top prospects.
