Cabrera to return
Cleveland Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is back in the lineup after being sidelined two games this weekend due to a left wrist injury. Cabrera sustained his injury when he slipped on the dugout steps just before Saturday's contest, but he's returning to action tonight for the team's series opener against the Chicago White Sox.
Dotel still hampered by injury
Detroit Tigers right-handed reliever Octavio Dotel continues to be hampered by a lingering elbow injury. The late-inning arm was once again unavailable yesterday due to swelling in his throwing elbow. The veteran has been dealing with the inflammation for some time now, and it's caused him to sit out previous games this season. If the injury doesn't show improvement, it could ultimately earn Dotel a trip to the disabled list.
Tribe activates Albers, Nieve DFA'd
The Indians designated right-handed reliever Fernando Nieve for assignment to make room the roster for fellow righty Matt Albers. Nieve had been previously called up by Cleveland to take Brett Myers' place on the roster. His stay wasn't quick, as he's been removed to make room for Albers, who had been on the team's restricted list while he had been dealing with an undisclosed family emergency.
