O's claim Stinson

The Baltimore Orioles have claimed right-hander Josh Stinson off waivers from the Oakland Athletics, the A's have announced.

Oakland had claimed Stinson off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers last week, but they designated him for assignment soon after to make room on their roster for right-hander Will Harris -- who was claimed off waivers from the Colorado Rockies.

Stinson has spent parts of two seasons in the majors. Over 20 appearances -- including one start -- the 25-year-old owns a career ERA of 4.43. He spent a majority of last season with the Brewers' Double-A affiliate, posting an ERA of 3.16 over 29 appearances -- including 24 starts -- with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 1.28.

A's outright Barton

First baseman Daric Barton has cleared waivers and the A's have outrighted him to Triple-A, the team has announced.

Barton appeared in 46 games for Oakland last season, hitting .203/.338/.292 with seven doubles and one home run over 136 plate appearances. Over six seasons in the majors, the 27-year-old owns a career batting line of .249/.360/.371.
