Harper's X-rays negative
Bryce Harper's X-rays came back, and fortunately for baseball fans everywhere, they were negative. This is especially great news for the Nationals, who have had a good deal of injury problems to deal with themselves. It would be a major blow to the league to lose a player like Harper for an extended period, so it is good news to hear that he should not miss too much time.
Joba to the DL
The Yankees have placed reliever Joba Chamberlain on the DL with a strain to his oblique. This is just another injury in a long list of them, and one has to wonder at this point whether he will ever stay healthy long enough to make a true lasting impact on the Yankees. He made 10 appearances this season until getting injured.
Josh Johnson hits the DL
Josh Johnson has hit the disabled list with an injury to his triceps. The right-hander, acquired as part of the mega-deal between Toronto and the Marlins this off-season, is supposed to be one of the anchors of the starting rotation. For a team with high expectations before the season, this is just another blow in what is turning out to be a disappointing season so far.
