Cubs outright RHP Michael Bowden to AAA Iowa

Chicago Cubs reliever Michael Bowden cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to AAA Iowa, more than a week after the team designated him for assignment. A former top prospect in the Red Sox system, Bowden was acquired during the 2012 season in exchange for Marlon Byrd, and has posted a 3.78 ERA in fourteen appearances out of the Cubs bullpen so far this year. In 83 career major league appearances with the Red Sox (2008-2011) and Cubs (2012-2013), Bowden is 3-4 with a 4.47 ERA and 1.411 WHIP.

Mariners outright IF Robert Andino to AAA Tacoma

The Seattle Mariners outrighted infielder Robert Andino to AAA Tacoma after he cleared waivers, according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun. As Connolly notes in his tweet, the Orioles internally discussed the possibility of bringing back the 29-year old, but ultimately decided against it. In 29 games for the M's so far in 2013, Andino has hit .184 with 4 RBI, and has a .232/18 HR/96 RBI career line in nine major league seasons with the Marlins (2005-2008), Orioles (2009-2012), and Mariners (2013).

Blue Jays outright 1B Clint Robinson to AA New Hampshire

The Toronto Blue Jays outrighted first baseman Clint Robinson to AA New Hampshire, according to the official MLB.com transactions page. After being claimed from the Pirates in March, Robinson has hit .270 in 47 games for Double-A New Hampshire so far this season, and is the owner of a career .306/114 HR/474 RBI line in seven minor league seasons. The former Royals prospect broke into the majors with Kansas City in 2012, and went 0-for-4 in his four major league plate appearances.
