Blue Jays outright Chien-Ming Wang to AAA Buffalo
The Toronto Blue Jays announced that right-hander Chien-Ming Wang cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Buffalo after being designated for assignment on Tuesday. Wang recently signed a major league contract with the Jays after spending the beginning of the season with the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate, and posted a 7.13 ERA in five starts. He chose to head to Buffalo instead of electing free agency, as Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reported on Wednesday.
Royals release Jeff Francoeur
The Kansas City Royals announced that they have released outfielder Jeff Francoeur after designating him for assignment last weekend. The 29-year old hit .208 with 3 HR and 13 RBI in 59 games with Kansas City, and will become a free agent in hopes that a team will take a flier on him for the second half of the season. In nine major league seasons with the Braves (2005-2009), Mets (2009-2010), Rangers (2010), and Royals (2011-2013), Francoeur is a lifetime .264 hitter with 140 HR and 614 RBI.
Rangers outright Kyle McClellan to AA Frisco
The Texas Rangers outrighted right-handed pitcher Kyle McClellan to Double-A Frisco after he cleared waivers, according to Anthony Andro of FOX Sports Southwest. The 29-year old, who owns a 7.71 ERA in 9.1 innings in the majors this season, signed a minor league deal with Texas in January after being released by the Cardinals. In six major league seasons with the Cardinals (2008-2012) and the Rangers (2013), he has posted a 19-24 record and 3.79 ERA in 387.1 innings of work.
Miguel Olivo elects free agency
Miami Marlins' catcher Miguel Olivo has elected free agency after clearing waivers, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the Miami Sun Sentinel. After hitting .203 with 4 HR and 9 RBI in 33 games with Miami, Olivo quit on his team and demanded to be able to pursue opportunities elsewhere due to his lack of playing time. After a couple weeks on the restricted list, the 34-year old is now a free agent who may land a minor league deal with a team looking for catching depth.
Royals outright Francisley Bueno to AAA Omaha

Bueno, 32, is 1-2 with a 3.40 ERA in 23 appearances with Omaha on the season. In 19 major league appearances with the Braves (2008) and Royals (2012), he is 1-1 with a 2.29 ERA in 19.2 innings.
Eric Hinske (Diamondbacks), Alex Liddi (Mariners), Travis Ishikawa (Orioles), Shawn Camp (Cubs), P.J. Walters (Twins), Brandon Lyon (Mets), and Hector Gimenez (White Sox) are all still awaiting the results of their designations for assignment.
