The Milwaukee Brewers have claimed right-hander Josh Ravin off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds, a source has confirmed to MLB Daily Dish. Ravin was designated for assignment by Cincinnati on Monday, and will be added to Milwaukee's 40-man roster.

Ravin, 25, was drafted by the Reds in the fifth round of the 2006 draft, and has spent eight seasons in the team's minor league system. He split this season between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Louisville, posting a 1-3 record with a 5.82 ERA, 8.5 K/9, and 6.7 BB/9 in 51 innings out of the bullpen. For his career, the reliever is 15-46 with a 5.30 ERA in 172 minor league games.

Ravin is the second low-risk waiver pickup this week for the Brewers, who also added Jose De La Torre from the Red Sox on Friday. Both relievers will head to major league spring training in February in hopes of joining a revamped Brewers bullpen that has recently traded veterans Francisco Rodriguez and John Axford.
